JEE Coaching Scholarships: Comparing ASAT, ANTHE, PWNSAT, MTSE and MVSAT

A comparison of five JEE coaching scholarship tests, covering eligibility, benefits, test patterns and which published 2026 windows are still open.

JEE Coaching Scholarships: Comparing ASAT, ANTHE, PWNSAT, MTSE and MVSAT

JEE Main, conducted by the National Testing Agency, and JEE Advanced, the IIT admission examination, are the two gateways to engineering seats at the National Institutes of Technology and the Indian Institutes of Technology. Coaching for these exams is a large expense, and major institutes run scholarship tests that can reduce the fee. The published comparison from AcademyCheck covers five routes: ALLEN's ASAT, Aakash's ANTHE, Physics Wallah's PWNSAT, Motion's MTSE and Vedantu's MVSAT. This guide summarises the published details and the practical checks that matter before you register.

What to check before picking a JEE coaching scholarship

  • Tuition only or all fees. A waiver may cover only tuition, leaving registration, material, test series and hostel charges to pay.
  • Score-based or interview-based. Some tests decide the waiver on the score alone; others use a second round or interview.
  • Class eligibility. The tests cover different class groups, so confirm that your class is included.
  • Course matching. Check that the scholarship applies to the JEE Main, JEE Advanced or foundation course you actually want.
  • Test mode. Some tests can be taken online from home; others need a centre visit.
  • Special categories. The source guide suggests asking about categories such as defence families or girls, which some institutes treat separately.

ALLEN: ASAT

According to the published comparison, ALLEN's Scholarship Admission Test offers up to a 90% waiver on ALLEN fees, with an instant scholarship option. Students from Class 6 to 12 can apply for ALLEN courses in JEE, NEET, Olympiads or school exams. The test uses multiple-choice questions in Maths, Science and logical reasoning, depending on the course, and is based on the current class syllabus. A student can attempt it a maximum of two times. The guide also notes that ALLEN offers direct admission to some courses without ASAT, so the test is mainly a fee route rather than the only admission route.

Aakash: ANTHE

The Aakash National Talent Hunt Exam is one of the most widely taken scholarship tests. It advertises up to a 100% waiver on medical, engineering and foundation courses, plus cash awards for top rankers under stated terms, and is open to Class 5 to 12 students. The published 2026 schedule lists online tests from 3 to 11 October, offline tests on 4 and 11 October, and school-based offline dates on 5, 7 and 9 October. Registration reportedly closes seven days before an offline exam and three days before an online exam. Since those windows have passed as of 20 October 2026, check the next cycle on Aakash's official page.

Physics Wallah: PWNSAT

PWNSAT is Physics Wallah's National Scholarship cum Admission Test. The published comparison says the registration is free, the scholarship goes up to 100% on PW courses, and the test is open to Class 7 to 12 students and droppers preparing for JEE or NEET. For the JEE-oriented paper, the published pattern is 40 multiple-choice questions in 60 minutes based on the NCERT syllabus, with subjects including Physics, Chemistry, Maths, Biology and Mental Ability. The listed 2026 window was 1 to 15 October online, with offline exams on 3, 4, 10 and 11 October; those dates have passed.

Motion: MTSE

Motion's Talent Search Exam offers up to a 100% fee waiver. Students who score above 40% move to a second round, where a personal interview decides the final scholarship. It is open to Class 8 to 10 and to Class 11 and 12 Science students, is an online test of 60 minutes based on the previous class syllabus, and can be taken in English or Hindi except for Classes 8 and 9, which the published guide says are English only. The published dates are 18 and 25 October, with results expected in November. Registration is free, and a student can take the test only once in an academic year. The 25 October date may still be open when this was written; confirm before registering.

Vedantu: MVSAT

Vedantu's Mega Vedantu Scholarship Admission Test is conducted offline and, according to the published comparison, the scholarship depends only on the test score, with no interview or negotiation. It offers up to a 100% waiver on Vedantu's JEE, NEET and foundation courses and is open to Class 8 to 12 Science students and droppers who have passed Class 12. Class 8 to 10 students compete for foundation courses, while Class 11 and 12 students compete for JEE Main, JEE Advanced and NEET courses. The test covers Physics, Chemistry and Maths or Biology, plus aptitude. The published 2026 schedule says registration closed on 30 September, the exam was held from 2 to 4 October and on 10 and 11 October, and results are tentatively due on 25 October.

What the percentages do not tell you

Every scheme has conditions. A 100% headline may apply only to the top merit band and may cover tuition only. Some offers depend on a test score alone, while others use an interview. The scholarship may be tied to a particular course, batch or admission cycle. Ask for the final percentage, the fee breakdown, the batch and centre covered, and the refund policy in writing before paying. Also check whether the test is compulsory for admission or only for the fee waiver; the published guide notes that at least one institute admits students to some courses without its scholarship test.

How to prepare for a JEE scholarship test

  • Revise the school syllabus. Most tests are based on the current or previous class syllabus rather than advanced JEE-only topics.
  • Practise Maths and reasoning. Several tests include mental ability or logical reasoning alongside Physics, Chemistry and Maths.
  • Work at exam speed. A 60-minute paper with 40 to 60 questions leaves little room for slow starts; use timed practice.
  • Read the marking scheme. Some tests have negative marking and some do not. Decide your attempt strategy after reading the rules.
  • Use the test as a diagnostic. Analyse errors and weak chapters, even if the waiver turns out to be small.
  • Respect attempt limits. If a test can be taken only once or twice a year, prepare before the first attempt.

Verify current dates and benefits

The 2026 calendar is already partly over, so the dates above are best used to understand each test's timing pattern. Confirm the next window, registration fee and scholarship terms on the institute's official page. For the entrance exams themselves, use the National Testing Agency website, which lists JEE (Main) among the exams it conducts and links to the official JEE portal.

Key takeaways

  • Five major institutes offer JEE coaching scholarships through their own tests, with published ceilings from 90% to 100%.
  • Eligibility, course matching, attempt limits and test mode differ, so read the rules before registering.
  • Several published 2026 windows have closed; confirm the next cycle on official pages.
  • Compare the total fee after the waiver, not the headline percentage.
  • Use the scholarship test as timed JEE practice and keep all registration and result documents.
